Benefits of Indoor Plants in Offices

Benefit #1:
One of the greatest benefits of houseplants is that they help reduce stress levels. Numerous studies have examined the effects of houseplants on outcomes related to employee performance and well-being. Research has also shown that plants can have positive psychological and emotional effects on indoor occupants. Research has also shown that plants can help employees stay calm, engaged and motivated, thereby increasing their creativity and productivity.

A study by the New University of Technology Sydney (UTS) found that employees who placed plants in their offices reported a 30-60% reduction in stress levels within three months.

A survey across three offices over a period of several months found that greenery significantly increased employee satisfaction in the workplace, increased self-reported attention levels, and improved perceived air quality. In 2014, researchers from Australia, the UK and the Netherlands carried out one of the first studies into the long-term effects of office plants.

Benefit #2:
Whichever way you decide to do it, plants are a simple and effective way to optimize your office space and improve workplace wellness. In addition to their many health and wellness benefits, plants are a naturally attractive decorative item that can add the finishing touches to your office decor and make it more inviting.

Whether it’s a small table plant that needs to be tended to or an office focused on biophilic design, workplace greening has several proven benefits and ultimately results in a better workplace for everyone. But office greening is more than a trend or a timely business opportunity, and several studies show that the benefits go well beyond aesthetics. Most employees would forego major benefits for a greener workplace, and there’s nothing better than a few living plants to spice up the workplace and its employees.

Benefit #3:

Just like plants in the home, greenery in the office beautifies the space and provides health and psychological benefits. They offer the same benefits as the outdoors, and according to the principles of color psychology, green has a relaxing effect. The natural look of plants brings a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere to the office.

This is where planters, potted table top plants, green walls and potted trees can help bring the office to life. Indoor hanging plants can green up small offices or studios without taking up precious space. You can install hanging office plants in low-traffic areas such as corners, and especially above medium-height furniture such as filing cabinets or near a window. If you want an attractive office plant that doesn’t take up a lot of space, you may also want to consider Tillandsia and other air plants.

Benefit #4:
Houseplants help maintain optimal levels of humidity, improving employee hydration and helping everyone feel more comfortable. Plants regulate humidity and reduce carbon emissions in the home and office. In addition to improving air quality, reducing fatigue, reducing colds, coughs and sore throats, plants in the workplace also improve mood. In addition to improving air quality, reducing fatigue, reducing the incidence of colds, coughs and sore throats, they have a psychological effect (for example, improve mood) by reducing stress.

Benefit #5:
Office plants have also been shown to reduce symptoms of ill health such as fatigue, nose and eye irritation, dry skin and trouble concentrating by 25%. When placed in offices and other workplaces, plants can reduce employee sickness by 14% and increase productivity and speed.

The benefits of office systems go way beyond measurable performance, even if they’re good for that as well. It may sound crazy, but office plants can be one of the reasons a candidate chooses your business.

If you spend a lot of time away from the office but enjoy a sunny workplace, an aloe plant may be your best bet. However, for hard-working but forgetful employees, this plant may be the best choice. This robust office plant needs very little water and can withstand long periods of neglect.

Benefit #6:
As an indirect effect of better air quality and a lower stress environment, offices with live plants often report lower rates of sickness and staff absence. New evidence also suggests that in offices, exposure to plants and the sight of greenery reduces stress, restores focus, and improves performance on a variety of cognitive tasks.
